Mobile applications enhancing ski experience

No matter what type of skiing or boarding you like to do, there are new mobile applications that allow you to capture, connect, and share your ski experience with family and friends. One application, called Epic Mix, allows you to track the dates you ski, where you go skiing, the amount of vertical feet you ski, what lifts you ride and then consolidate all that information onto your Facebook and Twitter accounts.

If you have an Android or I-phone, you can download the Epic Mix app. for free. These applications are making the ski experience more convenient than ever before. "It's really hard to keep track of how many days you ski each season and where you go skiing, so this feature makes it much easier to keep all of that information together," said Epic Pass holder Ben Sherlund.

The Epic Mix isn't the only ski app. helping today's skiers and boarders. The Mammut snow app. assesses local avalanche conditions for backcountry enthusiasts. An app. called Realski acts like a compus to help navigate particular ski trails. The Skimaps app. lets you download trail maps directly to your phone. Finally, an app. called Phresheez tracks which runs you ski, much like the Epic Mix.
