Neve Designs to sponsor U.S Olympic ski team

Boulder-based company Neve Designs is the creator of the official sweater of the U.S ski team for the 2014 winter Olympic games.

This sponsorship will extend through 2019, and ultimately place Neve among top ski-apparel contenders on an international scale. Tom Irvine, owner and president of Neve, said, “This will give us major credibility not only in the United States, but Europe as well.”

Irvine founded Neve Designs in 2002, and this small company of ten employees has now earned a place next to other major Olympic ski partnerships such as Northface and Spyder. Spyder is another local business native to Boulder.

“You go to Europe and, internationally, people think that Boulder is the hub of the United States,” Irvine said. “This city is internationally recognized for its outdoor sports.”

Neve is easily noticed out on the slopes by its use of rich colors and vibrant patterns. Forget fleece—this company focuses on Merino wool to create a functional and fashionable sporting sweater.

Designed for use both on and off the mountain, Neve’s business plan is equally as interchangeable and extends beyond the scope of the Olympics.

“The team wanted a partner that would use the teams' athletes, coaches and staff to grow its business over a long period, not just as a short-term blast for two weeks every four years,” said Andrew Judelson, the team’s chief revenue and marketing officer.
