Dean of CU journalism school resigns

By NewsTeam Boulde... - Posted on 11 November 2010

Paul Voakes, dean of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication at CU-Boulder, announced his resignation yesterday, effective summer 2011. Paul Voakes has served as dean since 2003, but now will return to teaching as a tenured professor in the journalism school.

This leadership change comes at a time when many questions remain about the future of the journalism school. In August, provost Russell Moore initiated the discontinuance process for the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, which could radically reform the school or shut it down altogether. The report from the discontinuance committee will be released next week, which will shed some light about the journalism school's future.
