Discovering Boulder one drink at a time

The Boulder culinary scene is one of the most vibrant among small towns in the U.S.

Local Table Tours, a local Boulder company, guides long-time Boulder foodies and visitors alike to discover a favorite place to eat.

Local Table Tours takes small groups on a culinary walking tour to locally owned restaurants in the heart of downtown Boulder. Each restaurant prepares a signature dish of their choosing for Local Table Tours guests to sample.

New this spring, Local Table Tours, has set up cocktail tours, every Thursday, from April to July.

"I started to develop a real interest in the cocktail scene in Boulder," said, Table Tour founder, Megan Bucholz. "I thought it would be a smooth transition to go from food tours to adding cocktail tours."

The first tour begins this afternoon at 3 p.m. and will highlight three stops — clear spirits, aged spirits and learning different flavor profiles. "You can go up to the bar (after a tour) and order a Sazerac, not just a rum and coke," said Bucholz.

Tours cost $30 per person and participants must be 21 years old.
