Boulder will not have a free cut-your-own Christmas tree program this year, however, there are other options:

The U.S. Forest Service offers four Denver/Front Range parks that allow tree cutting.

Areas include: Red Feather Lakes, Fraser/Winter Park, Buffalo Creek and Rampart Range Road

A map of the park locations can be found at:

Cutting Dates this year: December 5-13

After the holidays are over, what do you do with your live tree? The Answer: RECYCLE. Christmas trees are a renewable resource that can be used for a number of other applications.

When recycling a Christmas tree, a good rule of thumb is to recycle the tree in the same condition as it would be found naturally in the forest.
