Obama healthcare plan takes effect

Today marked a new era in American healthcare. Six months after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to approve President Barack Obama’s healthcare overhaul, some components of the plan have taken effect. One element of the plan that took effect Thursday allows young adults to remain under their parents’ health insurance plan until they turn 26.
