Russell Moore appointed new CU Provost

Russell L. Moore was named the new Provost for the CU Boulder campus Wednesday.

The appointment was made official after the Board of Regents waived a search for a new provost and decided to promote Moore from the interim provost position he has held since July.

Moore is no stranger to this campus. He has held numerous administrative roles in recent years, and he taught in the Integrative Physiology department through the 90s.

Provost Moore said, "All of our academic programs are very, very high priority. We have strategic initiatives that come from Flagship 2030. Right now the big focus is trying to grapple with the budget environment, and making sure that we can maintain quality. That's going to be the key challenge in the next year or two," Moore said.

Moore's appointment came into effect Wednesday and will continue until October 2013.
