Construction begins on new biotech building
CU's Flagship 2030 project is bringing lots of changes and construction to the Boulder campus.
Gov. Bill and Professor Thomas Czech were on hand for the groundbreaking ceremony Sept. 9 on the ground on East campus.
The new building will house over 500 researchers and enable dozens of new innovative biological studies.
Researchers are excited about the news opportunities available.
"It's going to be really great to have everyone in one place," said Zachary Lakeman, a professional research assistant for the biology department. "Whenever we need things from other departments, we'll be able to get them right away."
The new building is expected to be finished in October 2011.
