Buffs defeat TSU
Sunday, the CU Men’s basketball team waited to hear their name called during the NCAA tournament selection show. When that moment never came, the experts like Jay Bilas, Dick Vitale and Digger Phelps, were saying the buffs got snubbed out of the big dance according to ESPN.
Last night the Buffs defeated Texas Southern University, 88-74. Alec Burks lead the Buffs with 27 points and seven rebounds, and senior, Cory Higgins, was not far behind scoring 25 points.
Corey Higgins scored 16 of his points in the first half, displaying his leadership on the team. Coach Tad Boyle said, “I thought Corey was dialed in from the get go. He really played well tonight.”
Although the team was able to pull off a win, Tad Boyle said, "I thought mentally we were a little bit out of it," Boyle said. "Physically, I thought we played hard. Mentally, I thought we were in a little bit of a funk…. We will have to play better Friday."
Friday the Buffs will host California Golden Bears at Coors events center at 7:30 p.m.
