The Boulder Chess Club is not the type of group that you mess around with. Even though the group is made of Chess players, they take their sport seriously.
“Chess is a great sport and it is good for the mind,” said Victor Nguyen, a 12 year chess prodigy and member of the Boulder club.
The Boulder chess club has been meeting for over ten years with 20-30 members participating weekly. The club plays all types of chess, from five minute “speed” rounds, to the most traditional formats.
“Chess is the best thing for one’s mind and spirit,” said group member Zach Amster.
The group meets every Wednesday from five to midnight in the University Memorial Center on campus and welcomes players of all levels to participate.
