Dodge ball intramurals

Intramural sports are an opportunity for college students who lack that unique Division 1 athletic ability to still have a shot at Glory.

It is rare for students to take home the cherished Cotton T-shirts designating a champion, but it does happen. For the students of 957 Pleasant Street they have already collected an overwhelming 12 T-Shirts.

The Clown Babies dodge ball team is currently entering its fourth year as defending Champions of the Intramural Dodge Ball League. As freshman at the University of Colorado at Boulder students Brian Heydt and Matt Johnson found each other and started a dodge ball team. Since then they haven't lost a single game. Now stronger and wiser as Seniors, the Clown Babies have an opportunity to win it all, again.

According to the Universities intramural staff, winning the title four years in a row has never been done in any intramural sport. The Clown Babies only have to win a few more games to make the four-peat. Brian Heydt, the team captain, said, "We're all really good friends and most of us have been on the same team since we were freshman. So it's about all of us building off each other and playing together and having a good time. I Think that's a big part of it."

There name comes from the TV show "It's always sunny in Philadelphia" which is supposed to trick the opponent into underestimating their abilities.

The Clown Babies recently played on Tuesday night, and their dominance showed handing Team Nemo a 11-0 defeat. If the teams stays on course, Intramurals wil no doubt have its first four-peat.
