Boulder, Colorado is the best place to live in the country, according to U.S. News and World Report’s annual list, and three other Colorado cities placed in the top 17.

Colorado Springs ranked sixth, Denver 14th and Fort Collins 17th in the list of 150 Best Places to Live in the U.S. in 2021-2022.

U.S. News and World Report said metro areas listed are evaluated using data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the FBI, The U.S. Department of Labor, internal resources and more.

The data is then categorized into five indexes using “a methodology determined by Americans’ preferences” based on a May 2021 survey and weighted with a percentage, according to U.S. News and World Report:

  • Job market (21.2%)
